In SQL Server, a synonym is an alias or alternative name for a database object such as a table, view, stored procedure, user-defined function, and sequence.

CREATE OR REPLACE SYNONYM syn_name FOR my_schema.my_table;      
CREATE OR REPLACE PUBLIC SYNONYM syn_name FOR my_schema.my_table;

object_name is the name of an database object like TABLE, VIEW, STORED PROC and SEQUENCE.

Ex.
CREATE OR REPLACE SYNONYM "user2"."table1" FOR "user1"."table1";
