This is mostly due to oudated versions that are still being used in your app files.
1. android/build.gradle
change dependencies version
This version is the one working at this time, so make sure you check 

dependencies {
      classpath 'com.android.tools.build:gradle:7.3.1'
      
2. In android/gradle/wrapper/gradle-wrapper.properties
Change your distributionUrl to make sure it uses the right version.
distributionUrl=https\://services.gradle.org/distributions/gradle-7.4-all.zip

3. If the same error is still showing you can try and remove the properties from the release section
in app/build.gradle file at buildTypes, like minifyEnabled, shrinkResources and give it a try again

buildTypes{
      release{
            minifyEnabled false
            shrinkResources false
            useProguard false
            debuggable false
