This is called request-response model or client-server architecture.
Example
1)we type https://www.google.com/maps it contains protocol(Http or Https),
domain name and resources.
2)DNS change domain name to ip address and port number  of server.
3)From DNS we get https://216:58:211:206:443(protocal,ip address and port number)

Second step
4)TCP/IP socket connection with server.Rules to send data in internet.
TCP break large packets into small where IP make sure it goes to right ip
5)HTTP request :EXample GET/maps HTTP/1.1, HOST:www.google.com, User-Agent,Accept-Language.
start line is HTTP method+request target+HTTP version.

6)HTTP Response=> example=> HTTP/1.1 200 OK (version,status code and status message).
response body is given from backend code.
7)we get index.html which scanned for assets JS,css and images.
